Every free account gets over 1,000mb of space - but we'll soon be introducing even more space
Each account is allowed to transfer 5,000mb (5 gigabytes) of bandwidth per month - but we're always increasing this limit (previous was 1,500mb)
Each account comes with PHP5 and upto 2 MySQL databases
Due to the resources web analytics software places on our server, we no longer offer hosted web statistics or analytics. But don't worry! Much more detailed statistics and traffic analysis can be provided by Google Analytics, which is also free! It's simply a matter of placing their code on your pages, find out more about Google Analytics here.
Nerd web stuff:
All of FreeHost's servers run on rock-solid-stable Linux servers (Debian and CentOS distros if you're that way inclined)
We have multiple servers, the base minimum is at least a dual core with 2GB RAM, moving on up to our much more beefy 2x4 Core Processors
RAID is standard, but because of our system demands, we've not yet built a bigger redundnant storage system... but we're planning it! Stay tuned.
Are your servers all in Australia?
We'd love to say they are, but no, our servers are located in the United States. There's a simple reason for this: cost! Given the amount of storage we offer and the amount of bandwidth we consume, it would be financially impossible for us to host in Australia. So we've gone for the next best thing: premium data centres in Los Angeles, USA. This is the best possible location for Aussie users, hell, go ahead and ping us :) By locating in LA we are able to give extremley good service to our Australian customers, while not going bankrupt in the process.
